Blaxiploitation Queen Pam Grier joins the cast of Smallville

According to a recent report at EW.com, Pam Grier will be joining the cast of Smallville.
During the last few seasons Smallville a syndicated show which portrays the early life of DC Comic’s character Superman, has also introduced teen to young adult versions of Bat Man, Green Arrow and other heroes.
This time they bring on a villain and who is one of comics best Amanda Waller.
In the mainstream DC Comics universe Dr. Waller is a tough as nails character that heads a secret government organization. Waller’s past includes hard times in Chicago’s Cabrini Green Housing Projects.
Both in comics and in the popular cartoon Justice League Unlimited, Amanda Waller is a highly effective villainess who believes what she’s doing is right. More importantly she gives up very little in her dealings with super humans like Bat Man and Superman. Her job is to keep the heroes in check.
Seeing Pam Grier as Waller on Smallville will make me tune in at least twice this season. If Grier’s appearances are half as stimulating as the appearances of Waller has been in comics and TV? I’ll be savouring every second.
